Late fees

As a renter, it's your responsibility to return the rental car on time or extend the rental period if necessary. Keep in mind that the owner may need the car for themselves, or another tenant may have a reservation after you.

If you want to extend the rental period, you need to send a request to the owner*. You can quickly and easily extend the rental period directly through the GoMore app or website. The owner cannot extend or prolong a rental that has not yet begun.

When a request for a rental period extension is made, the owner will receive an automatic notification and can either approve or reject the request. Please note that the owner must approve your request to change the rental period. When the owner has approved the change you requested, you will receive a notification in your user account. If you do not receive confirmation, you must return the car at the previously agreed-upon time.

If a rental period extension is not approved and the car is returned late, the tenant will be charged a late fee.

Late return fees:

0 to 15 min late No fee
15 min to 24 hours late 0.7% of daily price (adjusted for dynamic pricing) per min including the first 15 min of lateness.
More than 24 hours late

Late fee for the first 24 hours

+ Daily rental price per started rental day

+ GoMore’s service fee of 50€ per started rental day.

For example, if the daily price of the car is 50€ and the car is returned one hour late, the tenant will have to pay 0.007% * 50€ * 60min = 21€.

Late fees are calculated from the first minute of the rental agreement and apply GoMore's normal service fees. Any extra rental income is paid to the car owner after the payment has been charged to the tenant, excluding GoMore's service fees.

The tenant or owner must contact GoMore within 24 hours after the end of the rental period if the late fee has been charged incorrectly.

If the car is returned late and the owner cannot reach the tenant, the owner must contact GoMore by phone at +358 9 42450192 or by email at support@gomore.fi outside of customer service hours. We will process incoming emails as soon as possible.

Waiving the late fee

If both parties to the rental agree on the delay in returning the car or decide together that the renter does not need to pay the late fee, the car owner can waive the late fee (does not apply to Keyless rentals).

Waiving the late fee can be done when completing the rental termination agreement.

*The rental period can be extended from 1 hour to 90 days. The rental period, including the extension, cannot exceed 90 days in total. For each day of the extension, 150km is included. Discount coupons and GoMore points cannot be used to pay for the extension. In addition, the duration discount does not apply to rental period extensions.
