Why was my renter approval rejected?

In order to guarantee our members as safe as possible community for comprehensively insured car sharing, we check every new renter member in connection with "renter approval" e.g. driver's license and credit register information, and we require strong electronic identification. In connection with approval as a renter, within the framework of our privacy policy, we perform an inspection of all our renter members based on various factors before they can start renting cars through us. Before submitting the membership application, each user has accepted GoMore's privacy policy, as well as the general terms and rental terms, of which our privacy policy in section 1.1. and in section 3.3 of the rental conditions. We will inform you in advance about the conditions for approval as a renter.

We take into account e.g. the following things:

  • The renter meets the requirements of our insurance conditions to rent cars on GoMore's platform. These include:
  • The renter must be able to present a valid driver's license
  • The renter must be over 21 years old
  • The renter must have had a valid driver's license for at least 1 year
  • The renter's driver's license must be valid for driving the rented vehicle in Finland.
  • When booking a rental, it is possible to purchase a driving license for an additional driver (additional driver) for the duration of the rental. The additional driver must also meet the above-mentioned requirements.
  • The member has identified himself using a strong electronic identification method
  • Credit register information provided by Bisnode
  • The user's past activity and communication on GoMore's platform

In addition to the above-mentioned information, based on the check made by our approval system, we may also ask the user for a pay slip as proof of employment and income as additional information in connection with the membership application. These are also clearly mentioned in section 1.1 of GoMore's privacy policy, which each user has previously accepted.

Every renter approval request that GoMore receives is processed in a completely uniform manner, based on the same approval process.

Did your renter approval get rejected?

If your renter approval was rejected, one of the factors required by our approval system unfortunately did not meet the conditions for approving you as a renter this time. The reasons can include, for example;

  • Missing or incorrect personal information in the renter application
  • Credit record entriesInability to confirm financial capability
  • Non-compliance with GoMore's rental conditions
  • Poor performance in previous rentals (if there have been repeated complaints, additional costs, or damages from previous rentals)

Please note that GoMore and all our members have the mutual right to reject or cancel membership on our platform without notice or reason. This is also mentioned in our General Terms of Use (section 2.3), which every user who logs into GoMore for the first time has accepted.

Our approval system has been developed based on our almost 10 years of experience in helping our large car sharing community of 2.7 million members across Europe. The renter approval process described above is necessary, because before our members have built the trust for sharing economy services within our community through their own activities, the owners who share their cars must be able to trust that the first-time renters also meet the conditions set by our insurance, and are thus in the right place.

Without a approval system, our new renter members would not get their rental requests approved, and we would not be able to offer comprehensive insurance for each rental without pre-booking the excess on the renters credit card. This would also mean that GoMore would have significantly fewer cars available for rent and significantly fewer renters renting them. If we have made a mistake, please send us your renter approval request again, and we will process it as soon as possible. However, please note that GoMore cannot describe the content of the review process in more detail due to business confidentiality.
